Tilted rows on flat roofs

Modules on frames tilted towards the equator at an optimised angle: the highest yield per module.

What it is

On a flat roof the modules are mounted on aluminium frames at 10 to 20 degrees and oriented towards the equator. This captures the most energy per module over the year. Between the rows a distance is kept so that no row shades the next.

The tilt exposes the modules to wind, so the system is held by ballast or anchored to the roof structure. The structural check decides which.

Technician mounting a module

Suitable for

  • Flat roofs with sufficient load reserves
  • Large roofs where area is not the limit
  • Owners who want maximum yield per module

Advantages

  • Highest specific yield
  • Good rear ventilation, cooler modules
  • Easy cleaning and maintenance access

What we check in planning

  • Row spacing and shading analysis
  • Ballast weight versus roof load reserve
  • Wind loads in roof edge and corner zones
